8.3Using a note in Ask answers

Available in:EnglishFrançais

By default, a note is private to you and excluded from search answers, similar to an email that has not been kept. You can add a note to your personal knowledge base so Ask Bmator can use its contents to answer your questions.

Adding a note to the knowledge base

When you keep a note, Ask Bmator can cite it and use its content to answer your questions. Because the note is indexed in your personal workspace, it only answers your own questions, even if you have shared the note with other people. If you edit a kept note, it is re-indexed about once a minute.

To include a note in your knowledge base:

  1. Open the Note you want to use.
  2. Select Keep in knowledge.

Once selected, the button changes to read Kept — remove.

Viewing knowledge graph connections

The knowledge graph reads kept notes alongside your documents, emails, and meeting reports. People and companies named in the note are linked just like those found in a document or an email.

To see what was extracted from your note:

  1. Open the kept Note.
  2. Select What Bmator understood, located beside Kept — remove.

This view displays the text of the note alongside every person and company recognised by Bmator, as well as how each entity was handled.

Removing a note from the knowledge base

If you no longer want Ask Bmator to use the note when answering questions, you can remove it from the index. Removing a note from the knowledge base does not delete the note itself.

  1. Open the kept Note.
  2. Select Kept — remove.

The note is completely removed from the knowledge base, and the button changes back to Keep in knowledge.
