6Projects
The projects you can open: the work people plan together, its people, its dates and the documents it works on.
Open Projects directly below the calendar item in the side navigation menu. A project brings together work items assigned to specific people, scheduled for specific dates, organized in an intentional order, and linked to the folders and documents used for that work. Every project belongs to a workspace. The person who creates a project owns it and serves as its initial project manager.
Projects are shared in the same way as documents. People added with Editor permissions plan and carry out the work, while team members assigned Manager permissions serve as project managers. To view all work items assigned to you across every project you have access to, open the My work section under Projects.
Cross-platform features and search
Projects and individual work items are indexed in Bmator global search. On a project's overview screen, you can use the option to ask about the project. This feature generates answers drawn directly from that specific project's records—including its tasks, deadlines, and assigned team members—for anyone permitted to open the project, even when access is restricted to chosen people.
In-app bell notifications keep you updated as project conditions change. You receive an alert when:
- Work is assigned to you.
- A work item is submitted for your review.
- A work item you completed is returned.
- A work item you follow is finished.
- A dependent task can begin because the prior work item was completed.
- A work item assigned to you is due tomorrow.
- You have overdue items (sent once daily as a summary).
Connected tools, tracking, and reporting
Projects integrate directly with your other Bmator applications:
- Due dates for your assigned work appear on your personal calendar.
- A project can maintain its own dedicated calendar.
- You can convert emails, notes, and meeting action items directly into project work items.
- Baselines allow you to freeze a project schedule at a specific point in time to monitor shifts and scope changes.
- The workload view details how much work is assigned to each person week by week.
- The project dashboard summarizes current project health, displays historical changes, and exports status reports as PDF files.
Some features are planned for future releases and are not currently present in the app: time tracking, project budgets, reusable project templates, and file imports from third-party project management applications.
