19.5.3Computing reporting values
Reporting values in Reportomator are computed rather than updated live. After you import ledger data, modify reporting nodes, or adjust opening balances, you must run a computation to update the figures across your reports.
Three ways to compute values
Depending on your reporting scope, you can compute values in three different ways:
- For one or several companies: On the page used to manage companies, navigate to the Compute values tab, or run Compute Reporting Node Values to calculate figures across your selected entities.
- For a single Topic: Use Compute & answer directly on a Topic to calculate only the specific figures that Topic requires.
- Through predefined views: Open Reporting Views to work with saved configurations of node lists, filters, and selected companies covering yearly, quarterly, and monthly values. To generate these figures, run Compute Reporting View.
Advanced balance options
In the advanced calculation options, the A Nouveau operator determines how opening balances are combined with the period's ledger movements, and the default setting is appropriate for almost all reporting requirements.
Tracking jobs and viewing results
Every calculation job is logged in Run History, where you can check the progress and completion status of each execution.
Once a calculation is complete, open Reporting Node Values to see the full list of computed results. You can select any listed value to open it and inspect its underlying debit, credit, and balance amounts.
