14.5Connected apps: AI applications that reach Bmator

Platform
Available in:EnglishFrançais

AI applications such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and others supporting the open MCP standard can interact directly with Bmator without requiring you to copy and paste API tokens.

Connecting an AI application

The connection flow starts directly inside the external application. When initiated, the application opens a Bmator browser window displaying a Connection request.

  1. Sign in to Bmator if prompted.
  2. Review the screen to see which Application is requesting access and where it will redirect you.
  3. Check the security notices displayed on the page:
    • If the application registered itself, no domain vouches for its name.
    • If the return address points to your own computer (such as localhost), it could represent any software running locally. Proceed only if you triggered the connection yourself just now.
  4. Select a single Workspace to grant access to.
  5. Under What it may do, choose the level of permission:
    • Read: The application can view workspace content, while personal data and payload values remain masked.
    • Assist: Includes all permissions of Read, plus the ability to run tasks, question lists, and workflows that are configured as tools.
    • Findings: The application can only submit reports and cannot read any data.
  6. Under For, specify the duration of the authorization.
  7. Enter an amount under Monthly spending limit (€) to cap potential usage costs.
  8. Select Connect to approve the access and return to the application, or select Decline to cancel.

Authorizing an application for a workspace that you previously connected replaces the earlier authorization.

Managing existing connections

You can review and revoke authorizations at any time within your settings under the Connected apps tab.

This page lists each active connection along with:

  • The connected Application
  • The associated Workspace
  • The permissions granted under What it may do
  • The expiration date set under For
  • The date and time the connection was Last used

To revoke access, select Disconnect. The revocation takes effect immediately, and the application's next call is refused.
