6.5The Dashboard and the status report

Available in:EnglishFrançais

The Dashboard tab presents your project's overall state in a single screen. At the top, you can review the project's health and note, the planned finish compared to the target date, and how much earlier or later completion is relative to the current baseline.

Below these details, key project figures are shown: Progress, Open, Done, Overdue, Blocked (which tracks open work waiting on something that is not yet finished), and Effort done out of total estimated effort. Note that on the Overview tab, clicking Open, Overdue, or Progress will also open daily historical charts.

Metric charts and tracking

Bmator records each project's figures every day. Charts begin on the date the feature was introduced or the project was created, and the data point for today is measured live.

Clicking any metric figure displays its daily progression as a chart along with its statistics. From that view, selecting Open in Time series lets you analyze the data further with alerts and forecasts.

Visualizing progress

The dashboard includes visual tracking tools to monitor progress over time:

  • Burn-up: Displays two lines showing the work items in scope (excluding cancelled items) alongside those marked done, tracked day by day. When the lines meet, the project is near completion.
  • Cumulative flow: Shows the work items across each status stacked day by day. A band that widens indicates work is piling up in that specific status.

Further down the page, you can review Work items by status, Next milestones, and Overdue items. Clicking any individual item opens its details.

Generating a status report

Anyone who has access to open the project can generate a status report document.

  1. Select Status report (PDF)….
  2. Write your summary. By default, the text starts from the project's current health note. If you are a project manager, you can choose Draft the summary with AI, which displays its estimated cost before running.
  3. Select Download the PDF.

The generated PDF includes your summary, project figures, charts, Work items by status, Next milestones, and what is Overdue, formatted in your workspace's branded layout. Nothing is transmitted automatically by the system; you download the file and send it yourself.
